Professional Engineer (PE) Engineers that have obtained a Professional Engineer License (PE) are required to take continuing education courses to renew and maintain the validity of their license. Most PE programs are maintained/managed through state monitoring. Each state has a different set of guidelines that must be followed but most manage their continuing education by recording/submitting Professional Development Hours (PDH).
