Turning 30 With Singita || A Journey Of Hope

This is 30! Turning 30 got me thinking about my purpose and the incredible milestones I have hit throughout out my life. My travel content on my YouTube channel stood out as one of the most fulfilling things I have ever done.. and so I set out to reignite that flame. I haven't posted on YouTube for the past 5 years, but turning 30 brought with it a renewed sense of purpose as a content creator. So I teamed up with Singita- a luxury lodge that heavily champions conservation and eco-tourism in Africa, to spotlight the 30x30 initiative- a global effort to conserve 30% of the world's land and sea habitat. It also happens to be their 30-year anniversary and we both welcomed an opportunity to take stock and reflect on our respective journeys so far. Working on this project was an acute reminder that I needed to get back to my purpose; which is reframing narratives about Africa through content creation. If you've been here on my channel long enough, you know that I have always been passionate about travel content and showcasing a different narrative about the continent from my POV as an African woman. While I had initially just set out to do an exciting bucket list excursion, i.e. seeing Gorillas in Rwanda… I ended up on an enthralling journey that has reignited my love for storytelling, love for travel and love for connecting with people. This has truly been a journey of hope and I am so grateful to everyone who has made this possible. Visiting Singita, being close to nature and encountering gorillas who share 98% of our DNA was a transcendent experience that allowed me to find a new lease of life, and rediscover my passion for travel and storytelling. I hope someday you each get to visit this 'place of miracles' and allow it to give you back a piece of your life, as it did for me.
