“The villain is the character that the people remember.” Udo Kier Udo Kier has one of the most unforgettable faces in cinema, sharp, cold, and strangely magnetic. Born in 1944 in Cologne, Germany, Kier survived the final days of World War II and went on to build one of the most fascinating careers in film history. From Flesh for Frankenstein and Blood for Dracula to Blade, Melancholia, and Brawl in Cell Block 99, Kier became the ultimate villain, the man who could shift between art-house cinema and B-movie horror without losing an ounce of presence. He worked with legends like Fassbinder, Lars von Trier, Herzog, and Argento, and somehow still found time to appear in a Korn music video and even voice video game characters. Elegant, unhinged, and always captivating, Udo Kier never played evil the same way twice. This episode of The Villains We Love takes a look at his life, his collaborations, and the secret behind his long-lasting cult appeal. Which Udo Kier role is your favorite?
