In this interview James from Santiam Organics we find out more about their products at the Maximum Yield Trade Show in Los Angeles 2015. Santiam Organics is based out of Oregon and they are a mycorrhizal manufacturer. What they provide for this industry is an endomycorrhizal product only, so we have the Myco-Fusion Green 150. It’s an endomycorrhizzae-only product specific to fast-growing annuals. The way they manufacture products are natural and organic. It seems to be a lot more effective as a product when it’s applied to the root zone. Some to take note: when you’re using a pre-inoculum endomycorrhizzae, you’re going to want to dust the roots. A lot of people put in the planting hole, do other things with it, which is okay, but once again we want to dust the roots with a pre-inoculum, so we have endomycorrhizal products specifically to fast-growing annuals that gets dusted to the root zone. This is a soluble product for the gardeners that are already in the ground or are even planted, so we have a soluble product mixed with water, water in for those who still want to inoculate but maybe didn’t get to on transplant day. The Myco-Fusion Rhizo-Charge is our transplant tool. This goes into the planting hole. So this product here, you dust to the roots. This goes in the transplant hole. You set your root ball on top of it, back fill, tuck in your plant. This is a micro-mycorrhizae super food. It’s also a plant food, other organisms for the plant; good overall plant response, zero transplant shock. We’re trying to help out plants settle in, get growing sooner than later. No transplant shock is really what we’re after here. Then there is Bio-Jolt. This is a soluble product that is intended to be watered in every 10 and 14 days. Some people will call it a composts. We just like to call it overall biological inoculant for the medium. There’s a little bit of plant nutrient here as well. So upload. We get a really good plant response, overall benefit to the soil, more soil organisms, replenishing the army, getting better flavors and yields out of this product as well. We typically recommend on transplant day, it’s a three-part system, so we have a dusting of the roots into the transplant hole and then the water in. Maintenance program will be the Bio-Jolt every 10 to 14 days throughout the crop cycle.
