✨ Step into Gdańsk with me Close your eyes for a moment. Imagine the soft April sun warming your face, a light Baltic breeze carrying the scent of fresh pastries and sea salt. Cobblestone streets echo with footsteps — not just mine, but those of centuries before us. 📍 Filmed: April 6, 2025 | Weather: 15°C — sunny & breezy 🎥 Location: Gdańsk, Poland #gdansk #poland #polandtravel #gdanskoldtown #gdansktravel #balticsea #visitpoland #walkingvideo #walkingpoland #gdanskwalkingtour #oldtownpoland #polandvlog #gdanskpoland #citywalk #travelvlog #travelpoland #europeanoldtown #historiccity #polishhistory In early April, I escaped to Poland’s north coast — three days of discovery. My base was Gdańsk Wrzeszcz, a lively district humming with cafés and trams. I wandered to Sopot’s golden sands… but today’s story is different. Today, we step into the heart of Gdańsk. Gdańsk, perched by the Baltic Sea, is one of Poland’s most beautiful cities — and one of its most historically important. Here, World War II began in 1939. Here, the Solidarity movement was born in 1980, paving the way for the fall of communist rule in Eastern Europe. Destroyed almost entirely during the war, the Old Town was painstakingly rebuilt to its Hanseatic League glory. Today, it’s a place where history, architecture, and everyday life intertwine. Join me as I stroll from the grand Gdańsk Główny railway station, through the Old Town and Main Town, past amber shops, medieval gates, carillon bells, riverside promenades, and hidden bakeries. Along the way, we’ll discover the Great Mill, the stunning Hevelius constellation mural, the Neptune Fountain, the Green Gate, and the quiet power of the Kindertransport Memorial. By the end, you won’t just see Gdańsk — you’ll feel its heartbeat. 📌 Travel Tips: • Getting there: SKM Trójmiasto trains connect Gdańsk, Sopot, and Gdynia. Tickets at “Kasa” counters, ticket machines, or station info points. • When to visit: Spring offers fewer crowds, crisp air, and blooming city gardens. • Must-try foods: Pierogi ruskie, amber beer, pączki with rose jam, and Gdańsk’s famous marzipan. ⏱️ Timestamps & Highlights 02:00 – Arrival in Gdańsk 02:15 – Gdańsk Główny railway station 02:51 – Great Mill & Amber Museum 03:04 – St. Catherine’s Church & carillon bells 03:23 – Hevelius Square & constellation mural 05:00 – Pączki break: rose marmalade 07:45 – Amber shops & “Store of Pretty Things” 09:58 – Great Armoury 11:31 – Toy gallery 13:14 – Długa Street, Town Hall & stone lions 13:19 – Neptune’s Fountain 15:40 – Green Gate 16:47 – Motława River 21:48 – Pirate ship & riverside views 22:00 – Carousel 22:44 – Bolesławiec ceramics 25:52 – Pierogi 27:05 – Sugar-free cake 27:59 – Kindertransport Memorial 28:33 – Farewell to Gdańsk 🎵 Music via CapCut 📸 Filmed, edited & narrated by me 💬 Your turn If you could explore just one part of Gdańsk from this video, which would it be?
