San Juan Capistrano Greek Festival ~ 2014, Syrtos!! OPA

Syrtos (Greek: Συρτός, also sirtos). Syrtos, along with its relative kalamatianos is one of the most popular dances throughout Greece and are frequently danced by Greeks and various nationalities worldwide. They are very popular in social gatherings, weddings and festivals. Syrtos and kalamatianos are line dances, done with the dancers in a curving line holding hands. Saint Basil Greek Orthodox church sponsored their Second Annual “San Juan Capistrano Greek festival” on Saturday and Sunday, September 27 & 28, 2014 in San Juan Capistrano, California, an awesome Greek festival with Live Greek music entertainment by the beautiful and talented Aphrodite V., outstanding singer Takis Kokotas S., featuring additional talented entertainers Alekos G., on Bouzouki and Dimitris on Keyboard. DJ music provided by Peter L., during break periods of the live band, event hosted Cooking classes, Cultural Exhibits, Church tours, Greek Folk Dance performances, Greek dancing lessons by John B., Greek Gourmet variety foods and Pastries were Delicious, as well as various merchants displaying jewelry, and various other miscellaneous merchandise.
