In this episode of On The Grass, the football coaching podcast from Derbyshire FA and Derby Uni Footy Journos, Amy Russell and Lucy Trail are joined by Chloe Hunter - football coach, Derby University Sports Therapy & Rehabilitation graduate, and St George’s Park Experience Day Coach and Hydrotherapy lead. Chloe talks through her coaching journey from grassroots football to academy and first-team environments, sharing her experiences coaching across a wide range of ages from U8s to U21s in both the boys’ and girls’ game. She reflects on what she’s learned working at St George’s Park, coaching young players, developing people before players, and navigating the challenges and opportunities of being a female coach in football. During the half-time segment, Jack Bryan visits Derbyshire FA HQ to speak with the Football Development Officer (Disability & Female Pathway) about the opportunities available for disabled people in football across Derbyshire, highlighting the importance of inclusivity and access within the game. A huge thank you to the University of Derby, Amy Russell and Lucy Trail for hosting, and Alex Wainwright for producing the episode.
