Otley is 45km south west of York, 16km north west of Leeds and 16km north east of Bradford.Farmers have been selling their goods in Otley for almost 800 years and that tradition continues today with a thrice-weekly market and a monthly specialist farmers’ market. Look out for fresh fruit, organic vegetables, home-reared eggs and fresh fish delivered from the North Yorkshire coast. Underground Bakery on Boroughgate offer incredible sourdough (if there’s any left!) and cakes the size of houses. The shops and stores on the cobbled lanes and alleys around the town provide all manner of bespoke shops. Pick up a bottle of fine wine from Chez Vin, artisan ales from Curious Hop If you’re looking for gifts or homeware, we have fine jewellers, cigar specialists, gift shops and antiques, as well as our own gardening experts at Courtyard Planters, who grow many of their own plants and herbs, as well as offering gardening classes. Look out, especially for the charming Kirkgate Arcade with its Victorian glass roof and boutique stores. And if you’re into art, you’re in for a treat – Otley is home to many fine galleries displaying original works.
