How does the old Line 6 Pod X3 hold up? Will live in an age where there's a new amp modeler being released every 5 seconds. Guitar players and engineers alike are always clamoring for the latest and greatest: Kemper AxeFX Helix One of the 57,543 amp sim plugins being released on the market every other day.. I have friends who, literally, buy a new amp modeler EVERY YEAR. The funny thing is I always hear the same things: "Oh, the newest (latest and greatest modeler) sounds just like a real tube amp!" "I'm gonna sell my old amp modeler...it's not capable of producing a decent tone, anyway." "I can FINALLY get rid of my 5150 now that I have the newest (latest and greatest modeler)." I've been hearing this exact same statement since the first Line 6 POD was released wayyy back in 1998! I've always found this topic fascinating considering it really doesn't make much sense when you think about it. How can a piece of gear sound "just like a real amp" one year and not the next? I've decided to break out my dusty old Line 6 POD X3 from 2008 and put it to the test. Lets see if an outdated, 12-year-old amp modeler should be put to use.. Or put up on eBay. ► Facebook - / frightboxrecording ► Instagram - / frightboxrecording ► Website - http://www.frightboxrecording.com/ All music in video mixed and mastered @ http://www.frightboxrecording.com
