Hi, Matt with etrailer. Today we're gonna talk about the Thule roof rack on our 2025 Toyota Sienna. This is gonna be a great way of really maximizing what you can carry with this vehicle. What I like about a roof rack is it's gonna open up a lot of opportunities, so you can carry anything like a roof box, any type of carrier like your bike racks or a kayak carrier or even a rooftop tent. Now you can put a lot of those accessories on the back of this Sienna. The only issue with that is the Sienna's already a longer vehicle, so adding extra length of it is gonna take a lot of space, especially if you're in those tighter spots, like a parking spot or garage, putting it on top of your roof is gonna save you that space. Now of course, that's just how we're using it. We'd love to see what your journey looks like. So leave a comment or even take a picture of your kit and let's see how you're using it. But that's just gonna be the benefit of using a roof rack in general. The one we have today, in my opinion, it's just gonna be one of the cleanest looking ones we have, and it's probably gonna be the easiest one you install, which is great, especially if this isn't gonna be staying on your roof full time. So let's take a closer look at what comes with it. So there's gonna be two parts. There's gonna be the actual crossbar. This is gonna be a 53-inch wing bar crossbar. And below it we're gonna have the tower. So focusing on the crossbar. What's nice about this is it's gonna have this T channel at the very top. So if you have some accessories that won't grab around your crossbar very well, you can use this instead. And it looks a little bit nicer too. What's nice is there's this built-in weather stripping so you don't have to worry about any debris getting in there, and it's gonna cancel out any wind noise. At the very end, we're also gonna have an access point. Just push that up, and right there, you have access to it. It's gonna be much easier to use compared to other options out there. And let's move down to the tower. This is gonna be a very clean design, and we're gonna have this little circle here. You can actually get this replaced with a metal lock core, so you have that extra security, and if I remove this, we can look at the internal components. Now compared to other ones I've seen, this is by far most likely the simplest. We're just gonna have one bolt, and this cinches up and tightens this down to your roof rails. So now let's focus on how this is gonna sit up here. We don't have to worry about the length this adds to our vehicle, but we need to worry more so about the height it adds. So let's go from the top of your roof. In our case, this is gonna be adding an extra four inches from just the roof, but if we went from the rails instead, this is only gonna be about two and a half inches, so it's not gonna be a whole lot. Now for the distance underneath, this is gonna be about two and a half inches of clearance there too. So why those two measurements are important is the overall height lets you know if you're gonna make it under a tight spot like a garage. And the space underneath here is important, because let's say you got some accessories on here, they have those larger style clamps, they might be a little bit tight to work around, or if you have a larger sunroof on top of your roof, if that expands up, it could make contact with that. In our case today, these sit far enough back that that sunroof isn't anywhere close to making contact with a roof rack. The last measurement I wanna get is gonna be the total space we have up here to use. So the raised rails have a unique feature where you can put these crossbars wherever you want them. So that's nice 'cause it's gonna work with a lot of different sizes of gear. So in our case, that max spread is gonna be 39 inches, so that's gonna be more than enough to accommodate most gear out there. Other than that, there's not gonna be a whole lot to it. Now if you're curious about some other options out there, something that I would recommend would be the Rhino-Rack roof rack. It's gonna be very similar to design. It's a little bit more low profile, and it just looks a tad bit different. So it's really gonna be based on what preference of aesthetic you like a little bit more, 'cause other than that, they both are really easy to install. Sp
