When we bought our first motorhome and wanted to head into the 'wilds' (we literally camped in a field), we bought a generator. We were convinced that it wasn't possible to tour Norway or the Alps or Croatia or a thousand other places without some sort of power-making machine. In 4 years, we used it fewer than five times. And that's not because we stayed on campsites. It's just that there are other ways to manage power. In this week's video, I answer a question which caused a lively debate between myself and a friend of mine- do you NEED a generator to have off-grid adventures in your van?
