Damnoen Saduak is Thailand's most popular floating market near Bangkok and is visited by many foreigners every year. And it's a great place to scam tourists. Don’t get us wrong. We actually loved this experience. Being on these traditional boats, watching the drivers navigate the narrow paths, seeing the stilt homes along the river and the excitement of the floating market was definitely a memorable experience. (and the mango sticky rice and coconut ice cream was soo good 🤤) But, we did get scammed. However, we do think this floating market is worth the visit! So we want to help you out so you can avoid getting scammed like we did! Tips for visiting Damnoen Saduak Floating Market 👇 It is free to enter the floating market if you drive there and walk around. If you want to take a floating market tour by boat, there is a fee. Do NOT get dropped off at "The Boarding Place"! This drop off location is a scam. Taxi drivers will drop you off here and you have to pay 3000 baht per person to take you to the actual floating market. Instead, drive directly to the floating market, you can hire a boat here for 2000 baht total. This price is for one hour and you can have up to six people with you.
