World On Our Shoulders - Poznan Boys Choir

World On Our Shoulders - Poznan Boys Choir, Poland Our planet is dying before our eyes... Every year, we experience the consequences of human interference with the natural environment more and more severely. We are witnessing dynamic climate change and the effects of this process are already visible today. Less and less Poles remember the white winters in our country, and for several years tropical temperatures have been plaguing us in the summer. Sea levels are rising, numerous forest fires and droughts are becoming more common. As a result of climate change, more and more animal species are dying, never to return. We cannot and do not want to look at this with indifference and that is why we have decided to speak out! Our team has joined the international project #Resolution2020, which unites artists, activists and politicians from all over the world. Everyone who engages in it records their version of the song "World on Your Shoulders" by Robin Howl, Violet Skies and Holly Fletscher. This movement is supported by such personalities as Keira Knightley, Emma Thompson, Annie Lennox and Jodie Whittaker. More than 100 countries have already joined the project, including Poland, represented by the Poznań Boys' Choir. We invite you to listen to our performance of this musical piece, "World on Your Shoulders" arranged by Jacek Sykulski and watch the music video realized in our hometown - Poznań. The colourful sculptures visible in the film, where also the participating choristers can be seen, are "Totems" - an installation artwork by Alicja Biała, symbolizing the scale of destruction of the natural environment in the world. Each of the six "Totems" depicts a different issue, such as smog, deforestation, or the extinction of wildlife populations. They are a powerful reminder to everyone who moves around the city every day about what is happening to our planet....We have great hopes that our artistic contribution to the project can be an inspiration; that specific steps will be taken to help reduce the effect of environmental issues. We as individuals, countries and the global community must take action to save our planet, so that it becomes a friendly place for future generations.
