I took a $1 plastic point-and-shoot camera, ripped it apart, and turned its lens into a usable mirrorless camera lens. This was never meant to work. Yet, somehow, it does. In this video, I break down the history behind cheap plastic cameras, why lenses like this were ever made in the first place, and how I adapted one to a modern mirrorless camera using 3D-printed parts and a lot of trial and error. This isn’t a tutorial, it’s an experiment in camera-vandalism. If you’re into DIY camera projects, weird lenses, vintage camera parts, or pushing old photography gear way past its intended purpose, this one’s for you. If you enjoyed this experiment, consider subscribing — I build weird camera gear so you don’t have to. For the digital shots in this video, I used Dehancer to emulate classic film stocks and grain. It’s one of the easiest ways to get a film look without actually shooting film. Check out Dehancer here: 👉 https://www.dehancer.com Use code SPICHER for 10% off monthly or annual subscriptions.
