Hello, Dr. Sislena Ledbetter, Associate Vice President of Student Development at the University of the District of Columbia your host for A Health Mind. The purposes of this television series is to educate and informed our community about mental health; from public policy and environmental factors to the various disorders that affect healthy minds. My guest is Dr. Niyanna KoKo Rasayon, Dr. Rasayon is a father, author, behavioral neuroscientist and adjunct professor here at the University of the District of Columbia. Dr. Rasayon is a graduate of North Carolina A & T State University, Fisk University and McHarry Medical College joint program in Clinical Psychology. He is a recipient of Howard University’s Doctoral degree in Biological Psychology/Neuropsychology. He joins me on this edition of A Healthy Mind to talk about mental health and substance abuse among African Americans.
