A Walk with The Relic Extra: 2022 Inaugural Latine Parade Columbus OH

On this Walk Extra I filmed the very first Latine Parade, in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month. It represents those whose heritage comes from Mexico, Central and South America as well as Puerto Rico. "Latine" was chosen as a neutral way of recognising the peoples of Latin America, and Latine representation in Columbus. There were around 30 different local community groups involved with the parade. The parade began at the corner of W. Rich St. and Civic Center Dr. at 11AM 9/17 and continued up Civic Center Dr. (along the Scioto Mile) to W. Broad St, culminating at N. Front St by City Hall. There was music and dancing, just an incredible vibe in the air! As this was the very first Latine Parade, there wasn't as many people watching, at least at the beginning. I walked alongside the parade all the way to W. Broad St., and more people started joining in. By the time they arrived at City Hall, there was a decent crowd. I fully expect that, as word gets out next year's Parade will be even larger. If you like these videos, please Like and Subscribe.
