Simi Valley Woman Stabbed in Neck Over Haircut

SIMI VALLEY, Calif., Oct. 29 (KNN) – Simi Valley police officers responded to reports of a stabbing victim at approximately 11:19 p.m. Tuesday, in the 1300 block of Katherine Road. Upon arrival, officers located a 71-year-old woman with a severe stab wound to her neck. She was transported to Providence Holy Cross Trauma Center by the Ventura County Fire Department, though her condition remains unknown. However, she is expected to survive, according to authorities. The suspect was also taken into custody at the scene. A police sergeant off-camera noted that the incident stemmed from an argument between two sisters over a haircut. Upon further investigation into the incident, the Simi Valley Police Department said in a press release that the victim was giving her sister a haircut inside the home when, without provocation, the sister broke a wine glass and stabbed the victim in the neck with the broken glass.
