Meningiomas are the most common intracranial tumors, accounting for almost 30% of all central nervous system (CNS) tumors in adults. A great majority of meningiomas are benign, correlating to grade I of World Health Organization (WHO) classification. They are frequently detected by chance while being asymptomatic. The incidence of asymptomatic meningiomas is increasing due to the increased use of brain imaging. The optimal management of asymptomatic meningiomas is complicated. Observation with longitudinal surveillance is a common approach for smaller meningiomas, but over time, many tumors may grow and develop symptoms. But their surgical resection is associated with treatment-related neurological complications.
