LIRR SPECIAL (HD 60FPS): First Revenue Train with MARC II Coaches to Hunterspoint Av (Ride-Along)

Earlier this year, MTA's Long Island Railroad leased a handful of push-pull coaches from Maryland Department of Transportation's MARC commuter rail system, for the summer season, for at least 3 years, to allow more C3's to be used in the Montauk Branch due to overcrowding. These coaches were previously leased to SEPTA, during the Silverliner V crisis. On Sunday, 25 June 2017, the MARC II coaches were delivered to LIRR via Amtrak. On Thursday, 29 June 2017, these coaches made a test run to Port Jefferson, for clearance testing and to ensure everything was working properly. On Friday, 30 June 2017, a train of 5 MARC II coaches with a DE30AC locomotive at each end entered revenue service on the Port Jefferson Branch, as train 613, the 6:57 out of Port Jefferson to Hunterspoint Avenue. It would make a second revenue run as train 664 out of Hunterspoint Avenue to Port Jefferson, departing at 17:47.
