My personal favorite movement from the '50s and '60s was American desert sled racing. When our client Charles approached us with the idea for his dream bike—a late-model Triumph for reliability and ease of use, combined with all the style cues of a '60s desert racer—I knew I had to say, "I'm in, let's do it!" This build challenged me in ways I didn't expect. Classic desert racers were often thrown together by garage builders, and achieving that "slapped together" aesthetic was tricky.
