Haryana News: IPS Officer Y Puran Singh Dies By Suicide, No Note Found, Police Scramble For Answers IPS Officer and Haryana ADGP Y. Puran Kumar died by suicide in Chandigarh. His body was found at his Chandigarh residence. Kumar's wife IAS officer Amanit P. Kumar is currently on a visit to Japan. An IPS of 2001 batch, Y. Puran Kumar took the extreme step at his residence in Sector 11, Chandigarh. The weapon used in the incident has been recovered and forensic teams are conducting on-site examination. No suicide note has been found, police are still trying to ascertain the motive. Evidence is being collected and statements of family members and staff are being recorded.
