When you move abroad, it’s easy to get caught up in the your new adventure…..the beaches, the sunsets, the slower pace of life. But what happens once you’ve settled in? What do you do with your time, your energy, your heart? As an expat living in Costa Rica, I realized that finding purpose is just as important as finding paradise. For me, that purpose came with four paws and a wagging tail. In this video, I’m sharing my journey of rescuing dogs here in Costa Rica, sometimes working with local shelters, and sometimes completely on my own. You’ll meet a few of the dogs I’ve helped, and hear their stories. There are so many strays here, and many local families who love their pets but can’t afford basic care like castration. Helping them has been one of the most rewarding parts of my life in Costa Rica.
