A quick review of the Pythagorean Theorem and we do a proof of the Pythagorean Theorem using area and algebra. We find a missing side length as a value of x and give the answer in simplest radical form, then we determine how far the foot of a ladder should be from the base of a tree for it to have a 4 to 1 ratio for a:b. We discuss primitive Pythagorean triples, how they consist of all even numbers or two odds and an even, what makes a triple non-primitive, and finding the missing side length of a triangle and determining whether the side lengths form a triple.
