Vandalism reported outside Sacramento ICE building after protesting Minneapolis deadly shooting

A protest outside the ICE federal building in downtown Sacramento was largely peaceful, according to witnesses, but a small number of protesters engaged in vandalism after most demonstrators had left. The damage reportedly included a gate pushed off its track at the John Miss Federal Building on N Street and chalk messages written on nearby sidewalks. Earlier in the evening, an online call to action urged people to gather at Fremont Park, accusing the Department of Homeland Security of using fear to keep people inside their homes and calling for solidarity with Minneapolis. Sacramento police officers were on scene monitoring the situation.
