Wild Swimming CHAMONIX - Episode 6: Lac Bleu THE BEST SPOT!

With temperatures really starting to ramp up, I headed to altitude to escape the heat of the valley below. Lac Bleu is just a stones throw away from the Plan de l'Aiguille (Aiguille du Midi mid station), but it is easy to miss! Despite the sign posts, most people won't know it is there as it is hidden from view until you are almost on top of it! The water is always cold, and it can hold snow and ice well into summer most years. This has to be my favorite location (so far) to swim in and around Chamonix. It has it all - the views, clear water, tranquility, accessibility and the added adventure of rocks to jump off. And all an easy lift ride up from the centre of town. I highly recommend it as a place to visit on a hot day, to cool off or just to soak up the views.
