In this video, I unbox and set up the Pimoroni Pirate Audio Headphone Amp, a compact audio board for the Raspberry Pi featuring a Texas Instruments PCM5100A DAC, a 3.5mm stereo headphone output, and a 240x240 pixel IPS LCD for track information and album art. The board connects directly to the Raspberry Pi’s 40-pin GPIO header and uses SPI for the display and I²S for audio output. It also includes four physical buttons for playback control, making it an excellent choice for standalone music players.
