Welcome to the official J Morris the Review Guy album review for the debut studio length album by Columbus, Ohio based brutal death metal band Sanguisugabogg, entitled Tortured Whole! Album genre type: Brutal death metal with slam tendencies. Go across the web in the metal underground over the past few years and chances are, you've come across Sanguisugabogg's name a good bit. When they burst upon the scene with their 2019 demo on Maggot Stomp, it broke through to become a buzz-worthy topic at the mere mentioning of their name, and thus broke them onto the scene with a frenzy. Now, as opposed to the Maggot Stomp label, they find themselves on Century Media, with a sound that sells all of their potential and hype short, effectively using a blueprint of the genres they call home, and resulting in a weak, vapid and unimportant BDM record. It is not terrible or great, it's simply okay; an extremely overhyped record that has an issue with being horrendously simplistic and boring, while remaining as unoffensive as possible. The lack of chemistry might be raw, and people might think it's simply a fun blast, but the appeal wears off VERY quickly. This album is available now on Century Media Records!
