Jordanian Charity Organises Large Iftar for Gaza Residents

MetroTV, Jabalia refugee camp in northern Gaza hosted a large communal iftar on Wednesday at Abu Hussein School for Boys, facilitated by the Jordanian Hashemite Charity Organisation, with wide participation from residents. Footage shows families gathering in the schoolyard ahead of the sunset call to prayer, while volunteers and cooks prepare meals for the fast-breaking. Performers can also be seen singing religious songs during the event. Fouad al-Malahi, a resident of Jabalia camp, said holding the iftar near what is known locally as the 'Yellow Line' carries a message of resilience, expressing hope that the line would soon no longer exist. Ali Battah, coordinator of the Jordanian Hashemite Charity Organisation, said the event, held less than 800 meters from the Yellow Line, reflects the solidarity and support of the Jordanian people for Gaza's citizens during difficult times. "We would like to encourage those displaced in southern Gaza to return home. It is crucial that they hold onto their land and resist the forced displacement sought by the occupation," he remarked. Ramadan, the ninth month of the Islamic lunar calendar, is one of the holiest months in Islam. Muslims fast from dawn to sunset, observing one of the five pillars of the faith.
