www.lindenlodge.wandsworth.sch.uk/trust The Family Centre will give the families we support access to an unparalleled range of information and training. It will also offer them, for the first time, a fully accessible venue to share experiences with others facing the same challenges. The most important aspect of the new Family Centre, of course, is that it will greatly expand our ability to provide the best possible support to the children under our care. Not only will the improved facilities of the Family Centre enhance our existing programmes and services at all age and developmental levels, it will also allow us to offer exciting fresh initiatives. An adaptable multi-use space will enable us to run ten after school clubs per week. During school breaks, the space will be used to run special holiday activities. This space will also be available to host up to six birthday parties each weekend. We are particularly excited about the Family Centre’s Home Intervention Room (HIR), which will simulate a real domestic environment, including a fully functioning kitchen. More prosaic, but at least as important, the Family Centre will house an Audiology Suite, where children’s hearing can be tested in a friendly local venue outside the stressful environment of the hospital.
