10th May 2025 – A day forever etched in my memory. After taking divine darshan at Gangotri Dham in Uttarkashi, we began our trek towards Gaumukh – the sacred source of the Ganges. As we crossed Chirbasa, the weather turned, and rain accompanied us all the way to Bhojbasa. Soaked but spirited, we reached Bhojbasa by evening and stayed overnight at an ashram with a breathtaking view of the Bhagirathi peaks right in front of us. The sight was surreal – snow-covered giants glowing in the evening light. The next morning, we set out for the final leg of the journey – to witness the origin of the Ganga. After crossing the mighty Bhagirathi river via the thrilling Trauli Express, we finally stood before Gaumukh, where the sacred river begins its journey.
