Alipurduar to Guwahati Train Journey || Travelling after covid 19 || what has changed.

Train journey from Alipurduar Junction(APDJ) to Guwahati (GHY) after covid 19 lockdown is an incredible experience. We took the Alipurduar to Lumding passanger special from Alipurduar Junction Railway station for this journey. The route we covered was part of the New jalpaiguri (NJP) - Alipurduar Jn. - Samuktala road line of the Northeast Frontier Railway (NF Railway) Zone of Indian Railways. This line was build after India's independence and partition in 1947 under the 'Assam Rail Link' project to connect Assam with the rest of India by Railways. Alipurduar junction station is older still as it existed from 1901, as a part of the erstwhile 'Cooch Behar Railway' line connecting Lalmonihat to Jayanti. The Lumding passenger special departs Alipurduar junction station at 03:45 hrs and it takes around five and a half hours to reach Guwahati after stopping at places like Kamakhyaguri, Kokrajhar, new Bongaigaon, Rangia Jn and Kamakhya Jn. near Maligaon. During this trip, the train passes through beautiful places like the assam and bengal Dooars, the Brahmaputra river, old Saraighat bridge and the Nilachal hills.
