Jobs in the Marine Corps work based off your Asvab Score but your overall score (which is what everyone focuses on) ISN’T the most important part (crazy huh?) it’s actually your line scores or the scores that make up that overall score that really count and those are your GT- General technical; MM- Mechanical; EL- Electrical CL- Clerical. Each job in the Marines will require At least one of those but in some cases more than one (job specific) as well as physical requirements, vision requirement and citizenship requirements (IF REQUIRED) —Not all jobs have additional requirement FYI. Ultimately the best way to get whatever job you want (based off availability) is to score well on the asvab. The better your score the better off you will be.
