I love a glass of wine on the weekend once my children of gone to bed so you can imagine my excitement when I was sent a bottle of wine from Wakefield Wine Promised Land and Influenster. Firstly o would like to say the bottle design is great and appealing and the story behind the label makes it even more appealing. Wakefield is a third generation family wine business and was founded in 1969 by Bill Taylor. On the label it mentions that when the land was dug up they unearthed tiny fossilised seahorses! And this was a sign of fertile land so they have incorporated this fascinated find onto their label personalising the wine and giving it meaning. I think this is a beautiful sentiment. It’s a screw bottle wine and it’s 14.5% Vol from south Australia. It’s a shiraz Cabernet2019. On smelling the wine it has a fruity / woody scent. Upon trying the wine I could instantly taste a dark fruity taste I could taste slightly cherry and blackcurrants. It has low tannin and is a very smooth taste and a very soft after taste.
