Rodney Downs, Match Director, designs and executes a fun and challenging course of fire that tests a participant’s fundamental shooting skills including variety in target engagement, support and positional stances, and basic ballistic calculation regarding windage and hold-over. The top three ranking match shooters are recognized monthly and those scores are compiled into a yearly total that culminates in the series finale and features a prize table built throughout the year by generous local and national sponsors. The .22LR Marksmen Challenge community extends beyond the local geography of Utah, where the matches are currently held, and includes shooters and enthusiasts online that gather to share their love and knowledge of the sport.
