Small Car, BIG Power: Modified Audi S1 Review Hello guys, and welcome back to Car Obsession. The Audi S1 is a car that has piqued my interest for quite some time, and although I've been a passenger in one, I've never actually driven one...until now. Why does the Audi S1 pique my interest? Well, for starters it's a hot hatch, a genre of car I simply adore, but the other reason is that this car is a bit bonkers. 10 years ago, Audi clearly had a funny five minutes and came up with the notion of shoehorning the famous EA888 engine in to its smallest, the A1, and in the process making the S1. It didn't stop there, though, as well as giving it a turbocharged 2.0 litre petrol offering 231hp and 370Nm, Audi then decided to fit the famous Quattro system as well, meaning this stubby hot hatch had all wheel drive as well. Because of the way it was tightly packaged, and the fact Audi didn't want the S1 to weigh more than the average moon, it was offered as a manual only, no S Tronic to be found anywhere. 0-62 comes in just 5.8 seconds, although it does increase ever so slightly to 5.9 seconds if you got for the Sportback (5 door) and the top speed is predictably limited to 155mph. The car in this video is a wee bit faster than your average S1, as you will soon find out.
