“Akavir-a” is a mystical, atmospheric tribute to the lost continent of Akavir, told from the perspective of a scholar obsessed with uncovering its secrets. Akavir lies east of Tamriel across the Padomaic Ocean and is home to legendary races like the serpent-like Tsaesci, the Kamal snow demons, the Tang Mo monkey folk, and the tiger-like Ka Po’ Tun. Throughout history, Akaviri forces invaded Tamriel during the First and Second Eras, most notably the Tsaesci invasion defeated by Emperor Reman, whose legacy inspired the Dragonguard and later the Blades. Scholars remain fascinated by Akavir, its mysterious empires, and the vanished expeditions, including Uriel V’s failed attempt to explore its shores. This song captures the awe, wonder, and intrigue surrounding Akavir, blending myth, history, and Elder Scrolls lore into a melodic and epic narrative. It evokes the longing of a scholar standing on Tamriel’s eastern cliffs, dreaming of distant lands shrouded in mystery. ~ Lyrics ~ [Intro] I hear the waves beyond the Padomaic line Whispers in the margins of forgotten time [Verse 1] I read the scrolls by candlelight alone Of serpent kings upon a golden throne They crossed the sea with dragon-hunting steel At Pale Pass they learned what blood can reveal Reman stood where snow and empire meet And Akaviri blades fell at his feet They swore an oath beneath the northern sky To serve the Dragonborn, not let him die [Pre-Chorus] I feel the pull across the eastern sea A land that is, yet may never be Through faded maps and sailor’s lies I chase the truth where mystery lies [Chorus] I bless the tides down in Akavir-a Where dragon fires once lit the dawn I long to stand where the Tsaesci are In lands where ancient myths are drawn I know the Blades remember who they are From serpent oaths they carried on I bless the tides down in Akavir-a Gonna find what’s been gone [Verse 2] They say the Kamal freeze in winter’s breath And wake with spring to march with death The Tang Mo fight in jungle shade While tiger-dragons rise unafraid Ka Po’ Tun with their scaled desire Chasing godhood, crowned in fire Did Tosh Raka truly take to wing? Or is that scholar’s imagining? [Pre-Chorus] Every text just contradicts Are they men — or politics? Snake or soldier, myth or lie? Truth is lost where dragons die [Chorus] I bless the tides down in Akavir-a Across the Padomaic foam I hear the ghosts of the Dragonguard Calling the Dragonborn home From Cyrodiil to distant star Their oath was carved in stone I bless the tides down in Akavir-a One day I’ll cross alone [Bridge] Sure as Masser guides the night And Jode reflects the scholar’s sight I know there’s more than what we’re told Of serpent blood and emperors bold Uriel sailed with banners high But eastward fleets still never reply No map returns, no sailors speak Just empty waves and secrets deep [Instrumental Build] Ohhh — across the sea Ohhh — what could be Ohhh — dragon land Calling me [Final Chorus] I bless the tides down in Akavir-a Where history and legend blend Where blades were sworn to Dragonborn And empires rose to end I feel the eastern winds afar Through ink and parchment worn I bless the tides down in Akavir-a Till Tamriel is reborn [Outro] I hear the waves beyond the Padomaic line Still chasing truths we’ll never find
