Today July 13th, Haylee should have been turning 13 years old. Finally a teenager on earth, but she's forever four in heaven. It's hard to believe that you would be 13, your fourth and last birthday seems such a long time ago. I think we all know that you would still be the same loving, kind and beautiful person, you was 8 years ago. Oh how I wish you were still here today, I would give anything for that to come true, and to take the pain away from your loved ones. Such a beautiful child, taken way to soon. Why is it the good people have to suffer? You didn't deserve any of this. Your always remembered and forever loved. Well Haylee, I hope that you are having a big party up in the heaven above. We all miss you so much. Love you more much baby girl. On June 3rd 2006 Haylee, her mommy Sonya and baby brother Thomas went to a family bbq. Haylee was playing in the pool when her mom asked her to get out, so she could go inside and change Thomas' wet clothes. Haylee begged for only 10 more minutes. Her 'step-grandma' came over and promised she would watch Haylee, for those 10 short minutes. Sonya reluctantly agreed and so went inside. What happened next changed her life forever. Moments later Haylees 'step-grandma' went inside, breaking her promise and leaving Haylee unattended in the pool. Less than 10 minutes had passed and Sonya heard screaming outside, 'call 911'. She thought someone had just hurt their foot, she went outside and found her 4 year old daughter on the floor having cpr. But Haylee was already blue, it was too late to save her. Haylee passed away that afternoon. Because someone couldn't be bothered to watch her for a few moments, Haylee lost her precious little life. Raise childhood drowning awareness. PLEASE always watch children in or around the body of water. It can take just 20 seconds for them to drown. In the time it took you to check on the dinner, or answer the phone - your child could be drowning. Its a SILENT killer, they can't scream for help and floaties will not save them. They could drown in something as little as a dog water bowl, to a bath tub, to a swimming pool. So for god sake, if a child's left in your care around water, WATCH THEM.
