The 2024 SGAA Conference in Kansas City, hosted by Tyler Kimball of Monarch Glass Studio with Andrea Denning and Kathy Barnard, offered an inspiring week of glass artistry. Events took place at Monarch Studio, Kathy Barnard’s studio, and the Belger Glass Annex, featuring live glassblowing, studio tours, and hands-on workshops. The General Session included a keynote by renowned historian Peter Cormack, along with guest speakers and seminars on the art and history of stained glass. Attendees also enjoyed a special guided tour of the Church of the Resurrection in Leawood, Kansas, home to the world’s largest stained glass window, crafted by Judson Studios. The Sponsor Resource Center & Demonstration Hall brought together top vendors, manufacturers, and suppliers for live demos, product showcases, and professional networking. Attendees explored Mosaic Arts International 2024 and 100 Moments: Season 5, exhibitions presented in collaboration with the Society of American Mosaic Artists (SAMA). The conference concluded with an inspiring presentation by capstone speaker Therman Statom, followed by a festive closing celebration and fundraising auction.
