A powerful explosion in a car near Gate Number 1 of Delhi's historic Jama Masjid has sparked a major investigation led by multiple units of the Delhi Police, including the Special Cell and the Crime Branch. According to Delhi Police sources, 'this was a powerful, intense blast that put out street lights as well'. The initial blast, which occurred at approximately 7 PM, triggered a fire that quickly spread to several other vehicles in the vicinity. The entire area, which includes the crowded Chandni Chowk and the Red Fort, has been cordoned off by authorities. Forensic teams and the dog squad are at the scene to determine the cause of the explosion, while officials are reviewing CCTV footage from the area.
