Wataru’s CD is on sale! http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/wataruuchida1 http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/wataruuchida Summary Of Video This video explains how to practice basic bebop phrasing in a systematic way applying the concept of tree diagram. Example is V-I motion in major key. The goal is to subconsciously control many options to connect lines on dominant 7th and tonic major. Starting with one line of dominant 7th and two lines of tonic major, the video suggest to practice those two options on tonic major randomly. And adding more branches to the tree diagram, you will be able to manage all the possibility to connect lines without thinking about it. Repetition of this method helps you to develop brain function to play ad-lib solo without thinking about phrasing and you can react to rhythm section to improvise phrases in the moments. You can apply this tree diagram concept to any other cadences in Bebop style. The video has a lot of demonstrations.
