❝𝐼𝓉 𝓌𝒶𝓈 almost as if he were dancing, she thought, as graceful and weightless and impossibly fast as she when racing swallows among the clouds. She was all too used to the hacking, dull sound of human instruments piercing her trees, so now the clang of sword against sword, of silver metal for once raised in her aid, almost sounded like music to her elfin ears – and, for a moment, she could not look away. And then their eyes met across the battered grass of the clearing, and suddenly she was somewhere, or rather sometime else – the same determined stare fixed on her in wide surprise from a much younger face. She had tried to scare him off back then, as she did with them all to survive. She remembered it well. “Run while you still can, boy. Don't you know what happens to little children in my forest?” she had asked, as menacingly as she could muster. But the boy's deep brown eyes – a warm colour as rich as the soil she so patiently nurtured – had only flashed with the briefest hint of hesitation before he stubbornly rooted his agile feet where he stood instead. “I am 𝒏𝒐𝒕 a child,” he had protested in fierce seriousness, voice only slightly trembling while raising a worn wooden stick between them in a childish imitation of a battle stance, as if to prove his point. “I am a warrior.” She had been torn between surprise and amusement at that peculiar defiance from one so little, back then; but now, as she stared back in stunned recognition at the man who was helping her, all that was left was awe. It seemed that little boy had been no liar, 𝒶𝒻𝓉𝑒𝓇 𝒶𝓁𝓁.❞ --- 𝓢𝔂𝓷𝓸𝓹𝓼𝓲𝓼: Blood of faerie, blood of man – the Ibnàri, a powerful line of wizards, are born from both. This is the story of how they came to be – a song of trees, sword, and a crystal tomb shaded by branches evermore. 𝓒𝓱𝓪𝓻𝓪𝓬𝓽𝓮𝓻𝓼: → the fae Mazàrie (Angelina Jolie): she is the lady of the Sìrnavber forest (known as just Sìr to humans) and akin to its personification, ageless and undying as long as the last tree remains standing. Fiercely protective, she has grown weary of humans trying to hack parts of her domain down and lets them believe the scariest stories about her as long as it keeps them away from her groves, but sometimes it is not enough to live in peace. → Haleth (Noah Hathaway/Craig Horner/Jeremy Irons): a fighter and an adventurous spirit at heart. As a child, despite growing up with scary stories about Sìr and its dwellers, he dares venturing into the outskirts of the forest to explore – and little does he know that his greatest adventure will find him closer to home than he thinks. → Nàr (Ivana Baquero), Namwe/Haleth's half-human, half-fairy daughter who will in time birth a powerful line of mages. She looks more human than fairy, but her single green eye betrays her magical heritage, glowing brightly whenever she taps into her power. As no one ever conceived such a halfling could even come into being, not even Mazarië herself can exactly tell the extent of her daughter's powers or her peculiar talents, which are for her to figure out and a constant source of wonder for both her and her parents. Super nervous to actually upload this...but here we go. Most personal project in a long while, or maybe ever? You might remember me vidding this cast from a while back, in one of my crossover collab parts from 2017. I have always wanted to do a longer something with them and with that particular embrional version of a storyline, and since then the ideas attached have kept growing out of proportion...so a while ago I decided it was high time these bbs got their own names and further fleshing out. Long story short: have my first ever OC video – which is likely not to be the last, because I've barely scratched the surface of all the half-baked plans I have for this wizard family. Would absolutely love to expand on the world as I go down generations...maybe in the next few years knowing my snail-like slowness when it comes to editing? We'll see. As for now, Nàr's own adventures have barely started (what happens towards the end of this video is a huge catalyst/turning point for her), but in my notes she has already a lot more to divulge about herself that isn't yet shown here, and I love her for it!
