GRIPS is collaborating with FPCI (Foreign Policy Community of Indonesia) in convening the FPCI-GRIPS Public Forum, an open public webinar series where experts and policymakers can discuss the most pressing issues of international affairs and foreign policy with researchers and students across Southeast Asia and Japan. At the Second FPCI-GRIPS Public Forum in 2024, entitled "Connecting, Cooperating, Co-Creating: The Future of ASEAN-Japan Economic Cooperation," reviewed the 50-year relationship that ASEAN and Japan have built and discuss specific goals to be achieved in the future. ASEAN and Japan have formulated the "ASEAN-Japan Economic Co-Creation Vision" on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of their economic cooperation. This vision aims to (1) enhance cyber-physical connectivity, (2) co-create human capital, (3) promote open innovation, and (4) achieve sustainability. The four pillars also include policies related to economic digitalization and supply chain resilience. To deepen the understanding of the future of ASEAN-Japan economic cooperation, panelists from various fields will make presentations, followed by a discussion moderated by the moderator.
