Incredible news! The B14 booster has officially been selected for the next flight, and with testing on the horizon, there are some fascinating insights to uncover. Plus, we’ll take a closer look at SpaceX’s recently launched Fram2 mission and what it means for the future. All that and more on today’s episode of Great SpaceX! The preparations for the upcoming flight have captured significant attention—not just because SpaceX is determined to succeed after two consecutive challenges but also due to the anticipation surrounding the first major step toward full reusability. SpaceX Massive Plan on Starship Flight 9 B14 Reusing but No More Catching... One of the biggest questions leading up to this mission was whether the previously flown booster, B14, would be used in Flight 9, especially since B16 had also been making notable progress. Now, that question has been answered—B14 is officially set to fly. Late on March 31 and into the early hours of April 1, images from the Production Site confirmed the booster’s first movement. B14 was lifted from its stand inside the Mega Bay and placed onto a booster transport stand before rolling out to the Launch Site. A few hours later, it arrived and was positioned next to the Orbital Launch Mount (OLM). By 10 a.m., the Chopsticks lifted B14 and secured it onto OLM, marking a major milestone in the flight’s preparation. SpaceX Massive Plan on Starship Flight 9 B14 Reusing but No More Catching... Now, B14 is set for a rigorous series of static fire tests scheduled for April 3 and 4, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. CST. Unlike previous boosters, B14 may undergo multiple static fire tests with various engine configurations and fuel levels to ensure reliability. Once testing is complete, it will return to the Production Site for additional checks and final installations before heading back to the Launch Pad for integration and final launch preparations. Meanwhile, S35, the upper stage for this mission, is likely undergoing engine installation inside Mega Bay 2. Once complete, it will be transported to Massey for static fire testing, where, similar to B14, it is expected to undergo multiple tests to verify performance, address potential issues, and validate recent upgrades. After testing, S35 will return to the Production Site for final inspections and installations before making its way to the Launch Site to join B14 for full vehicle integration. ---- We use images and content in accordance with the YouTube Fair Use copyright guidelines: https://www.youtube.com/intl/en/about...
