Woodturning 3: the Yard of Ale goblet

Hello again This video shows the making of a 3 foot or 36 inch Yard of Ale goblet. These originated in England in the 18th Century and hold about 2.5 pints of Ale. The challenge is to drink the whole yard without spilling it. Sounds fairly easy until the Ale starts to exit the bowl shape at the end and it comes at you like a tidal wave! Skilful drinkers know the strategy and start twisting the glass; it's not easy when you've had a few beers already. Anyway because I'm not a glass blower I decided to turn one from wood instead. It actually holds about 3 pints and it is possibly the only woodturned Yard of Ale in the World ! If you know of another one please let me know. Cheers and safe drinking. John
