In June 2019, I retired from the US Air Force and moved back to the USA. Instead of flying back, I made the trip by cycling with my Quest Velomobile. This is part 1 of the trip as I leave Langbroich, Germany and cycle to the German border with Denmark. I am riding a Carbon Quest Velomobile designed by Velomobiel.nl in Dronten, Netherlands. (https://en.velomobiel.nl) Technical specifications Length 2,85 m Width 0,765 m Height 0,87 m Weight 28 kg (61 lbs) ready-to-ride, including battery Turning Circle 11 m (depending on front tire size) My Quest was loaded down with 80 lbs of gear for the trip including: Tools, 6 spare tires, 10 spare tubes, spare bike parts, extra chain, spokes, clothing (warm & cold), food, tent, sleeping bag, air mattress, pillow, rain poncho, jacket, extra shoes, cooking supplies, camera & charger, solar panel (for phone), first aid kit, stove, fuel bottle for stove, extra rear shock damper, air pump, shock pump, foam rain cover, toiletries, toilet paper, 4 water bottles, backup battery bank for phone, towel, etc etc. I began my trip from the Altes Brauhaus (Old Brewery) Guesthouse.
