The Tragic Lore Of Sir Pentious's Death in Hazbin Hotel Season 2

Did you know this in Hazbin Hotel? During season 2 episode 2 we get another perspective to sir pentious’s death. Let me explain. So before sir pentious’s sacrifice the last line he says is fire. The laser doesn’t charge up in time though with adam blasting him. We don’t get to see his final moments. During episode 2 of season 2 we finally saw what was going through his mind. When the speaker of god displays his memories we can see him smiling, thinking about his kiss with cherri bomb moments earlier. However his smile quickly changed to a terrified expression at the blast coming towards him, even his hat is crying. With this additional context it completely changes how we the viewers perceive his death. He likely thought that he failed, and all his friends were going to die at the hands of adam. Just like when he was a human he wasn’t able to save anyone. This is why he’s so distraught the entire episode. The only thing he’s thinking about are his friends. Going from thinking they’re all dead, to knowing they're alive but being unable to see them must be terrifying for him. Pentious is such a well written character. He’s simultaneously caused some of the funniest scenes in the show, but also the saddest. It also highlights how important the speaker of god is. Although Emily tried her best to make pentious feel at home, she lacks the knowledge to help him. The speaker of god on the other hand does, and was able to comfort pentious. What do you think?
