https://www.jordanoutside.com/hanakap... We were so excited to explore the north side of the Napali Coast of Kauai by hiking the Kalalau Trail to the remote beach called Hanakapi'ai Beach. This is 4-mile round trip hike that is difficult, but worth it. You now have to make a reservation to get into Ha'ena State Park and that's where the trailhead is to get to Hanakapi'ai Beach. You have to book a parking pass and permit or shuttle pass and permit to visit this beach. The parking passes are hard to get and they are only for a few hours. The shuttle is the other option and that gives you access from 7am to 5pm. We booked a shuttle with a permit to visit at $35 per person. This is the website to book it: GoHaena.com. The shuttle leaves from Waipa Park and Ride in Hanalei. The address is 5-5631 Kuhio Hwy, Hanalei, HI 96714. The hiking sign estimates that it takes 1 to 2 hours to hike to Hanakapi'ai beach. Due to how steep some of the hike is, that is a good estimate. Overall, we really loved this beach and the hike had some amazing views. We would highly recommend this hike on your next visit to Kauai.
