✝️ On August 3rd, 1923, Nazir Gayed was born, the man who would one day become Pope Shenouda III, the 117th Pope of Alexandria. From humble beginnings as a teacher and Sunday school servant, to a monk in the desert, and finally the shepherd of millions, his life was marked by faith, vision, and deep love for the youth. 🌍 Under his leadership, the Coptic Orthodox Church grew from only 7 churches outside Egypt to over 600 worldwide, establishing monasteries, schools, and theological seminaries across the globe. He baptized thousands, ordained priests and deacons, and laid the foundations for generations to come. 📖 A brilliant writer, Pope Shenouda authored more than 100 books—half of which were translated into multiple languages, guiding Christians everywhere. He was also the first pope in history to appoint a bishopric dedicated to youth, famously saying: “A church without youth is a church without a future. And a youth without the church is a youth without a future.” 👩🦰 He championed the service of women in the church, inspired countless young people to devote their lives to God, and touched millions with his weekly sermons that filled St. Mark’s Cathedral in Cairo with thousands. 💔 On March 17th, 2012, the world wept as Pope Shenouda departed this life. Thousands of Christians and Muslims alike gathered at his funeral, mourning a leader who transformed the church and left an everlasting legacy of faith, service, and love. 🙏 This is the story of a pope who changed the course of history for the Coptic Orthodox Church, a man whose impact still shapes lives today. #PopeShenoudaIII #CopticOrthodox #FaithThatInspires #ChurchHistory #LegacyOfFaith
