Borei - the new Russian strategic submarine

Borey is a series of Russian strategic nuclear submarines - carriers of ballistic missiles with nuclear warheads. Project 955 Borey was initiated back in the 1990s for the future replacement of the Delta IV and Typhoon submarines. Despite many problems and serious delays, the project entered the implementation stage and gave the Russian fleet a new generation of strategic sumbarines equipped with all modern equipment and weapons. Borea's main weapon is 16 SS-N-32 Bulava submarine-launched ballistic missiles. For 2022, there are 5 units in service: 3 early Borey and 2 updated versions of Borey-A. A total of 10 submarines are scheduled to be delivered, which will become the main strategic carriers of sea-based nuclear weapons in Russia for the coming decades. Thank you for watching!
