In my last videos there were some comments wanting to see more of my little lathe. Well - here it is! I don't know, how old it is. Probably around 70 or 80 years. And this might have been the first real service! Since I bought it some years ago, it always had a bit of backlash in the slides. But in the last few projects it got so big that it was due for an overhaul. Disassembly showed that the spindles had axial play and the spindle nuts had far too much play. Spare parts are not available. So do it yourself! A little measuring, turning and milling - and it works like new with absolute precision! And it is a beauty anyway. And the best thing: to make the parts for the lathe, I need nothing but the lathe itself. The result was impressive. Before, it took almost half a turn of the crank until the gauge showed any deflection. Afterwards, there was practically no play at all. Have fun looking! And as always: Liking, sharing, commenting welcome!
